Two Days in Napa

Napa is one of my favorite places in the world. I try to tell myself it’s because of the beautiful scenery, and relaxing nature of the town, but really it’s just because of my deep, deep, deep love of wine. A few weeks ago, we spent a perfect two days in the valley, and I’m here now, to bore you with all the details of where we stayed, ate, and drank.

Stay:
We stayed in one of our new favorite hotels, Senza. The rooms were incredible, with vineyard views, fireplaces under the televisions, balconies, giant bathtubs, and netflix (the way to my heart). The hotel also has an incredible pool/hot tub area with an outdoor fire pit, as well as a great pastry breakfast spread from Bouchon. A complimentary wine and cheese hour was held every night. One of my favorite parts of this hotel was how beautiful the grounds were, with vineyards ON the actual grounds.

Tastings:
Our two favorite vineyards in Napa are Frogs Leap and Hall Wines. Both have beautiful grounds, that I love to wander with a glass in hand, as well as tastings with delicious varieties included. We normally just do one tasting a day, as we’ve found that there’s so much wine in one tasting, but that’s just us.

Eat:
Our top recommendation for Napa is Gott’s Roadside – we ate there twice, and I wanted to go back more. You can’t go wrong with their Poke Tacos, Ahi Burger, or Cheese fries – plus the ambiance is that of an old school road stop. We also loved The Oxbow Public Market for coffee, oysters, pizza, and cupcakes. We had a great meal at Boxcar Fried Chicken, which was perfect after a particularly heavy tasting.
