There’s nothing I look forward to more than spring. While I love being able to up my layering game during winter, I think I’m just about ready to roll out my floral dresses and breathe color back into my wardrobe again! But I get how spring dressing can be a little tricky. Sometimes, the world can jump between hot and cold in a minute, as if winter and summer were playing tug-of-war on our Spring weather. And before you know it, you’re second-guessing if you should bring that light coat with you on your way out. But hey, that’s what we’re here for! Here are some tips on how to transition your closet from winter to spring:
Bust out your boots
Thought you saw the last of these babies? We’re not quite at sandals weather yet, so you can still put your boots to use this spring! Yes, even your favorite knee-high pair that only makes its cameo every winter can have an extended life this season. Try pairing them with a cute spring-time mini-dress or a skirt. It’s the best compromise when you’re not too ready to bare your legs yet either, as fashion writer Bianca Nieves explains that they’ll keep your legs warm when you don’t want to wear pants, all while still showing off a sliver of skin. It’s also romantic enough for a Valentine’s date-ready look!
Add splashes of color
Color blocking is officially being hyped by VT Vogue Magazine as one of the boldest trends of the year. But for the faint of heart who want to ease their way into it, you can start adding a few splashes of color here and there, whether it’s an eye-catching scarf in a popping yellow, or a pair of statement bright shades.
Put a spring in your step
On that note, why not try a bright pair of shoes to put a spring in your step (pun intended)? Even if you’re decked out in head-to-toe black, wearing delightfully colored shoes is sure to make your entire look that much more fun without going over the top.
The lighter, the better
While you can totally wear them all year round, nothing says spring better than a pair of light wash jeans! Choose a timeless cut that will flatter all your angles. That’s because the right fit makes all the difference, trust me! Woman Within’s jeans range is a testament to the versatility of the classic denim cut coming in various styles such as bootcut and the tummy tucking high-waist variation. You can easily take them from day to night, dressed up or down, and in pretty much whatever weather. They’re always a great investment, I must say.
Mix it up
Now how about a little more creativity and playing around with textures? Don’t rule out your winter sweaters or jackets and shove them to the back of your wardrobe just yet. Before you say goodbye to them for another year, go ahead and combine them with lighter fabrics like lace, chiffon, or cotton. The resulting combination is so simple, yet very chic. Top it off with some accessories for an ensemble that says “I’m ready for spring!”
